Cry For Silence - The Glorious Dead

Vindos de Londres, os Cry For Silence trazem-nos um poderoso agressivo Hardcore, capaz de agradar aos fãs do género. A sonoridade é realmente algo de agressivo, violento, em certos aspectos. Se excluirmos as partes calmas e mais melódicas, de gosto discutível, a fazer lembrar alguma veia Doom que quebra muito um bom Hardcore, o que sobra? Uma promessa de bom slam-dance!

Gostei particularmente da voz, muito harsh e rasgada, a fazer lembrar Eye Hate God. A bateria tem um ritmo bastante elevado e mostra uma cadência muito definida e bem conseguida.

Na parte das cordas, as guitarras mostram que, dentro do género, estão alguns furos acima da concorrência directa, mesmo falando de algumas bandas com mais anos no activo. Nas partes mais melódicas que referi anteriormente, demonstram muita técnica e trazem-nos uma quantidade apreciável de solos realmente bons. Quem conheça Trivium vai com certeza gostar de ouvir estas guitarras, também.

Trata-se de um Hardcore new-school (nada parecido com monstros old-school como D.R.I., BioHazard, etc., nem com Metal-Core) que está no bom caminho para ombrear bandas como Bullet For My Valentine e em certa parte Trivium, embora estes últimos sejam donos de um virtuosismo difícil de igualar. Mas Cry For Silence são uma aposta a ter em conta quando falamos no que se faz dentro do Hardcore nos dias de hoje.

Hailing from London, Cry For Silence bring us a powerful and aggressive Hardcore, capable of pleasing fans of the genre. The sound here is indeed quite aggressive, violent, even. If we exclude slower passages of questionable taste reminding some Doom that interrupts rather good Hardcore, what’s left? Some promising slam-dance!

I particularly enjoyed the vocals, quite harsh and tearing, reminding of Eye Hate God. The drumming is very fast and shows well defined cadence and is all around well pulled out.

Concerning the chords, the guitars show that, in the genre, they are a few notches above their direct competition, even when compared with more veteran bands. In the more melodic parts they show a lot of technique and bring us a good amount of really great solos. Those knowing Trivium will certainly enjoy these guitars also.

This is new-school Hardcore (nothing close to old-school monsters such as D.R.I.,BioHazard, etc., nor Metal-Core) which is on the right path to equal bands like Bullet For My Valentine and in a way Trivium, even if the later have a certain virtuosity that is hard to match. But Cry For Silence are a sure bet when we’re talking about what’s being done in the world of Hardcore these days.
