Ministry and Co-Conspirators - Cover Up

Em Setembro do ano passado foi lançado “The Last Sucker”, álbum esse que marcaria o fim de 26 anos de carreira de MINISTRY.

Entretanto Al Jourgensen troca as voltas e surpreende tudo e todos com o lançamento da cartada final “Cover Up”, uma compilação de temas rock dos anos 70/80 adornados com a sua energia industrial própria.

Editado em formato digipack e em edição limitada a número de cópias, “Cover Up” contou com a participação de amigos e companheiros de vários projectos de Al, como Sin Quirin e Josh Bradford (REVOLTING COCKS), Burton C. Bell (FEAR FACTORY), Tommy Victor (PRONG) e o entretanto falecido Paul Raven.

A arte desta compilação baseia-se na subtileza da escolha dos temas que mergulham numa cadência vertiginosa de emoções e sensações. Temas perdidos no tempo como “Under My Thumb” de ROLLING STONES, “Bang a Gong” um original de T. REX - comandado aqui por guitarras e habituais devaneios vocais de Al -, o deslumbrante “Black Betty“ de RAM JAM, “Roadhouse Blues” de THE DOORS, “Supernaut” - anteriormente apresentado em “Nativity In Black”, tributo a BLACK SABBATH por um dos projectos de Al dos anos 90, os 1000 HOMO DJ’s -, o grandioso ”Lay Lady Lay” de BOB DYLAN e a apoteose final do popularizado tema “What a Wonderful World” de LOUIS ARMSTRONG, são agora achados em “Cover Up” brindando-nos com uma abrasiva descarga de energia.

Além das onze faixas disponíveis existem ainda mais 3 temas escondidos no álbum em que dois deles são a continuação de “What a Wonderful World”, em versão acelerada com bateria e guitarras em alto nível.

Ministry and Co-Conspirators - Cover Up

September 2007 saw the release of “The Last Sucker”, an album that was to mark the end of Ministry’s 26 years of career.

In the meantime, Al Jourgensen shuffles everything and surprises everybody by playing yet another card, “Cover Up”, a compilation gathering rock songs from the 70’s and 80’s, bolstered by Ministry’s very own industrial energy.

Released in a digipack, limited edition format, “Cover Up” saw the contributions of friends and companions from Al’s several projects, like Sin Quirin and Josh Bradford (Revolting Cocks), Burton C. Bell (Fear Factor), Tommy Victor (Prong) as well as the now deceased Paul Raven.

The art in this compilation is based in the subtlety in choosing the songs to dive in a vertiginous cadence of emotions and sensations. Songs lost in time such as Rolling Stones’s “Under My Thumb”, T. Rex’s original “Bang a Gong” – here driven by guitars and Al’s usual vocal deliriums – Ram Jam’s stunning “Black Betty”, “Roadhouse Blues” by The Doors, “Supernaut” – previously part of “Nativity In Black”, a Black Sabbath tribute by one of Al’s 90’s projects, 100 Homo DJ’s – the grandiose “Lay Lady Lay” by Bob Dylan and the final apotheosis with the famous Louis Armstrong classic, “What A Wonderful World”, all of these true finds in a “Cover Up” that greets us with an abrasive discharge of energy.

Besides these eleven tracks, there are 3 more hidden songs, two of which are the continuation of “What A Wonderdul World”, this time in a speeding version with high profile drumming and guitar playing.
