This Is Hell - Misfortunes
Formados em Junho de 2004 e com origem em Long Island, os THIS IS HELL tiveram várias reencarnações até atingirem um line-up sólido.
Depois da edição do primeiro trabalho no formato demo, as reacções não se fizeram esperar e o que à partida seria inimaginável tornou-se realidade. A banda teve uma grande projecção internacional, sendo mesmo reconhecida como uma das novas forças do Hardcore.
O contínuo aumento de popularidade despertou o interesse da Trustkill Records no final de 2005, e depois do presidente Josh Grabelle assistir a um desempenho dos THIS IS HELL, desesperou enquanto não os contratou.
A primeira release “Sundowning”, já com chancela da editora de New Jersey, surgiu em Maio de 2006 e mais uma vez foi muito bem recebida pela imprensa com confluência Punk, Metal e Alternative.
Na rua há mais de dois meses, “Misfortunes” vem testemunhar em definitivo a crueldade desenfreada do quinteto Americano. Os THIS IS HELL promoveram uma mistura fundida de influências Hardcore direccionada à fracção mais genuína e impiedosa.
De uma intensidade apaixonada, “Misfortunes” despeja impetuosidade e moléstia num segmento moderno capaz de alcançar / superar o êxito dos anteriores trabalhos, embora não seduza – minimamente – outros sectores do universo musical mais pesado.
This Is Hell - Misfortunes
Created in June 2004 and hailing from Long Island, This Is Hell went through several incarnations before settling on a solid lineup.
After the release of their first demo, reaction didn’t take too long to appear and what seemed unimaginable at first became a reality. The band had great international projection, even being considered one of the new forces in Hardcore.
The continuous increase of their popularity caught the interest of Trustkill Records in late 2005, and after president Josh Grabelle saw a This Is Hell concert, he didn’t rest until he had them signed up.
The first release, “Sundowning”, already under the banner of the New Jersey label, came in May 2006 and was once again well received by the Punk, Metal and Alternative press.
In the streets for over two months now, “Misfortunes” witnesses the unleashed cruelty of the American quintet. This Is Hell have promoted a boiling mix of Hardcore influences directed to the most genuine and merciless factions in the genre.
Of a passionate intensity, “Misfortunes” unleashes impetuosity and sickness in a modern segment capable of reaching/surpassing the success of the band’s previous works, even if it won’t seduce in the very least other segments of the heavy music world.
