Dawn Of Tears - Dark Chamber Litanies

Os nossos vizinhos espanhóis DAWN OF TEARS voltam à carga com mais um lançamento, neste caso um EP de nome “Dark Chamber Litanies” que, tal como “Descent” (LP), está disponível sem custos para download na integra no site supracitado.

Death Metal Melódico é o menu do dia e, acreditem, estão bem servidos. Com uma sonoridade que vai desde DARK TRANQUILITY, passando por old CHILDREN OF BODOM, até CRADLE OF FILTH, é um registo que vale a pena adquirir e até nem custa nada à carteira.

Além de não disfarçarem as suas influências (nem precisam), usam-nas com orgulho e adaptam o suficiente para serem originais. Por vezes pode sobrecarregar o ouvinte com demasiada informação; tantos solos, tantos teclados, tantos blastbeats, vocalizações e melodias numa música apenas, que parecem perder o sentido da música. Mas estou a ser picuinhas até porque há bandas a fazer música muito cheia sem grande objectividade e os DAWN OF TEARS fazem o que fazem, mas fazem bem.

A verdade é que estamos perante um registo de elevada qualidade, com grandes solos, riffs e poder suficiente para conquistar qualquer metaleiro que se preze. Além disso, não fica nada atrás de outros nomes mais conhecidos no género, nem mesmo na produção, e por isso merece uma cuidada audição.

Quem já conhecia “Descent” não se vai sentir defraudado com “Dark Chamber Litanies”. Infelizmente é um E.P, mas vale a pena estar atento a mais um longa-duração que certamente vai colocar os nossos vizinhos a concorrer com os nórdicos.

Our neighbors DAWN OF TEARS are back with a new release, the “Dark Chamber Litanies” EP. This one, like the “Descent” LP is available for free download on their aforementioned website.
 
Melodic Death Metal is the day’s menu; believe me, you’re well served. With a sound that goes from DARK TRANQUILITY, along with old CHILDREN OF BODOM, reaching CRADLE OF FILTH, this is a release well worth acquiring and it’s even light on the wallet.  

Besides not disguising their influences (they don’t need to), they wear them proudly and adapt enough to be original. Sometimes it may overload the listener with too much information; so much soloing, so many keyboards, so many blastbeats, vocals and melodies in a single track that the point seems lost. But I’m being picky, there are bands doing much fuller music, losing the objectivity, but DAWN OF TEARS do what they do and do it well.    

The truth is that we’re standing before a high quality release, with great solos, riffs and enough power to conquer any respectful metalhead. Besides that, “Dark Chamber Litanies” owes nothing to the more famous names in the genre, not even production wise and for that a careful listen is due.

Those who already know “Descent” will not be disappointed with the “Dark Chamber Litanies” EP. Unfortunately it’s an EP, but it serves as an eye opener for the next LP that will certainly place our neighbors running along with the Nordics.
