Reinxeed - Majestic

Os Reinxeed, aposta da Liljegren Records (anteriormente Rivel, editora fundada por Chrisian Rivel-Liljegren (Narnia, DivineFire, Audiovision, etc.), são a criação de Tommy Johansson, multi-instrumentalista, letrista, compositor, vocalista... em suma, um jovem de imenso talento.

"Majestic" é na verdade o terceiro álbum dos Reinxeed e segue a sua fórmula de Power Metal melódico, veloz e de arranjos neoclássicos com uma forte presença de teclas e orquestrações, a que conveio chamar "Adventure Metal", mas que na verdade comporta semelhanças muito estreitas com Fairyland, Rhapsody iniciais, ou os primeiros álbuns de Avantasia.

Se este é o tipo de Power Metal de que gostam, os ReinXeed têm argumentos mais do que de sobra para vos convencer. Tommy mostra sérios dotes de compositor e o nível técnico do álbum é apreciável com alguns solos a parecerem saídos da escola Finlandesa de Timo Tolkki. Leads velozes, bateria rimbombante e instrumentais, regra geral, pomposos, são marca deste "Majestic"que merece completamente o seu nome.

Ao mesmo tempo as vocalizações são memoráveis e épicas, melódicas até ao tutano, com uma profusão de coros e ganchos, tudo vincando bem este espírito de temas bombásticos com aura cinematográfica. Tommy é, além do mais, um vocalista muito competente, e já há algum tempo que não ouvia Power Metal Melódico desta envergadura.

Temas tão infecciosos quanto "Deep Under The Sea", "Invincible" ou "Never Lie" são verdadeiras jóias, com outros algo mais complexos como "Once Upon A Time" a manterem a toada. Maus temas não há, e se o álbum perde apenas um pouco na falta de originalidade, mais do que compensa com temas marcantes, melódicos, cheios de paixão e ambição.

"Majestic" é um bom álbum de bom Power Metal que nos entretém e capta a atenção do início ao fim. Muito bem conseguido, deixa boas indicações para o quarto álbum da banda, a lançar já em Janeiro de 2011 e que será uma iniciativa certamente a apoiar.

ReinXeed, one of the bets by Liljegren Records (previously Rivel, label founded by Christian Rivel-Liljegren (Narnia, DivineFire, Audiovision, etc.), are the creation of Tommy Johansson, multi-instrumentalist, lyricist, composer, singer... to put it bluntly, a young man of great talent.

"Majestic" is in fact their 3rd album and follows their formula of speedy melodic Power Metal, with neoclassic arrangements, a strong presence of keyboards and orchestrations, they chose to call "adventure metal" but which is indeed something very similar to Fairyland, early Rhapsody and the first two Avantasia albums.

If this is the sort of Power Metal you enjoy, ReinXeed have more than enough arguments to convince you. Tommy shows some wicked talents as song writer and the album's technical level is great, with some soloing seemingly right out of Timo Tolkki's Finnish lineage. Fast leads, thundering drumming and pompous instrumentals, are "Majestic"'s trademark, making the album well worthy of its name.

At the same time, vocal lines are memorable and epic, melodic to the bone, with a profusion of choirs and hooks, all outlining very well the spirit of bombastic songs with a cinematic aura. Tommy is, more to the point, a very competent singer, and all put together, it has been a while since I last heard Melodic Power Metal this good.

Songs as infectious as "Deep Under The Sea", "Invincible" or "Never Lie" are true gems, with others somewhat more complex like "Once Upon A Time", keeping the tone and level up. There really aren't any bad songs, and if the album loses something in terms of originality, it more than makes up for it with stunning, melodic songs, filled with passion and ambition.

"Majestic" is a very good album of good Power Metal that will entertain you and grab your attention from tip to toe. Well put together, if leaves great references for the band's fourth album, due for release in January 2011, and one certainly worthy of your support.
