9MM - Dem Teufel Ein Gebet

Por vezes, a qualidade de um álbum é imediatamente aparente e nem é preciso perder-se muito tempo à procura dos seus pontos altos e virtudes. É precisamente o caso destes 9MM, com o seu poderosíssimo "Dem Teufel Ein Gebet" (algo como "Ao diabo, uma oração") , catalogado como "Deutschrock".

Cheios de atitude e letras jocosas, estes Germânicos são puro rock n' roll e a sua filosofia não podia ser mais óbvia: riffs gigantescos que fariam Wolf Wolfmann feliz, refrães infecciosos, e muito couro. Muito mais que Deutschrock cuja linhagem se nota bem nas melodias, "Dem Teufel Ein Gebet" é um festival de Heavy Metal clássico com inúmeras influências de punk a fornecerem um ritmo inebriante que vicia do início ao fim. Claro que utilizar o termo "punk" vai originar gritos de horror nos metaleiros mais puristas, o que não me aquece, nem arrefece: o Heavy Metal foi a melhor coisa que algum dia aconteceu ao Punk. Pronto.

Com "Wenn Träume Fliegen", os Alemães abrem com chave de ouro e mostram o que será a sua toada ao longo do álbum: sempre directos ao assunto, sem grandes floreados, apenas coros masculinos com muita atitude, riffs demolidores e solos fulminantes. Não há absolutamente nada para desgostar aqui. Ora mais furiosos como em "Kain Vs Abel", ora mais rockeiros e bem dispostos como em "Party Rock n' Bier", "Sommer" ou mesmo na francamente hilariante "Amigos Para Siempre", os 9MM fedem a cerveja e asfalto num álbum que não é louvavelmente original, mas também não tenta sê-lo. O importante é a diversão, e nesse aspecto o sucessor de "Champagner, Koks & Nutten" ("Champanhe, Coca e Putas") não podia ser melhor, como autêntico hino à rebelião e ao mosh.

Há francamente que adorar uma banda que comercializa a sua própria marca de cerveja. Para fãs de Heavy Metal de biqueira de aço, mosh, deboche generalizado, cerveja, passando por Böhse Onkels e pontapés nas canelas à homem. Agora deixem-se de merdices, rebentem os ouvidos dos vizinhos e vão pinar alguém no elevador.

9MM - Dem Teufel Ein Gebet

Sometimes the quality of an album is readily apparent and you really don't need to spend a lot of time searching for its high points and virtues. That's precisely the case with 9MM, with the powerful "Dem Teufel Ein Gebet" (something like "A Prayer to the Devil"), catalogues as "Deutschrock".

Filled with attitude and boasting, these Germans are pure rock n' roll and their philosophy couldn't be clearer: titanic riffing that would make Wolf Wolfmann happy, infectious choruses, and a lot of leather. A lot more than Deutschrock, its lineage recognizable in the melodies, "Dem Teufel Ein Gebet" is a showcase of classic Heavy Metal with a lot of punk influences supplying an intoxicating rhythm that will addict you from tip to toe. Of course the term "punk" will have the purists screaming bloody hell, which I really don't care about: Heavy Metal was the best thing that ever happened to Punk. There.

With "Wenn Träume Fliegen", the Germans open up with a high not and show what the spirit will be throughout the album: straight to the point, manly choirs and loads of attitude, crushing riffing and soaring soloing. Nothing to be disliked about this. More furious as with in "Kain Vs Abel", or delivering pure rockers such with humour thrown in as in "Party Rock n' Bier", "Sommer" or the hilarious "Amigos Para Siempre", 9MM stink of beer and asphalt in an album that isn't anywhere near amazingly original, but it doesn't try to be. Instead, the important thing here is fun and in that respect the successor of "Champagner, Koks & Nutten" ("Champagne, Coke & Whores ") could hardly be better, as a true anthem to rebellion and moshing.

You really have got to love a band that sells its own beer. For fans of Heavy Metal and steel pointed boots, mosh, generalized perversion, beer, from Böhse Onkels to kicking shins like a man. Now cut the crap, blow your neighbours' ears and go fuck someone on the elevator.
