Billion Dollar Babies - Die For Diamonds

Quem diria que o Glam Rock festivo estaria vivo hoje em dia, tantos anos depois da decadência da Sunset Strip, mas com o seu álbum de estreia (Lançado em 2010 na Suécia, em 2011 na Europa), é exactamente o que nos oferecem os Billion Dollar Babies.

A sua música é extremamente endiabrada, lembrando a arrogância e a pose das bandas de Glam de tempos passados como Mötley Crüe, agora em pleno regresso numa nova geração de músicos, ao lado dos quais os Billion Dollar Babies têm todo o mérito em figurar, falando de Crashdïet, Hardcore Superstar, The Poodles, ou num Hard Rock mais sério, os Suíços Shakra e Gotthard. A verdade é que a Suécia é prolífera neste tipo de bandas de qualidade. Mas para lá das semelhanças, uma marca distinta da música dos BDB são os instrumentos de sopro bem abundantes e de valor acrescido.

Uma banda imensamente talentosa, instrumentalmente fantástica, onde o vocalista Frankie Rich mostra um talento vocal assombroso, incrivelmente variado, a lembrar por vezes o portento de Steve Perry.

De resto, bem desde o início com "Boys Night Out" e a fenomenal "Highest Mountain", é Party Rock a todo o gás, com "Right On Time" a sumarizar bem o espírito positivo da banda, onde abundam as moças, a boa disposição, o champanhe, o romance. Com coros que se memorizam imediatemente e se acompanham o melhor que conseguem as nossas vozes, "Die For Diamonds" é um tour de force que mostra imensa promessa e se tudo correr bem, estes jovens estão a caminho de se tornarem grandes.

Billion Dollar Babies - Die For Diamonds

Who would guess that party Hard Rock would be so alive today, so many years after the decadence of the Sunset Strip, but with their debut album, that's exactly what Billion Dollar Babies give us.

Their song is incredibly wild, reminding you of the arrogance and pose of long gone Glam bands such as Mötley Crüe, clear influences of which are present here, and now making a comeback in a new generation of musicians like Crashdïet, Hardcore Superstar, The Poodles, or the more serious Hard Rock of Switzerland's Shakra e Gotthard. Truth is Sweden is really prolific at creating this sort of quality bands. But beyond all similarities, the distinct mark of BDB's music is the wind instruments that add a lot of value.

A very talented band, instrumentally fantastic, where singer Frankie Rich shows some stunning vocal talents, incredibly varied, quite reminding us of Steve Perry's enormous might.

Beyond that, well from the beginning with "Boys Night Out" and the phenomenal "Highest Mountain", it's Party Rock at full throttle, with "Right On Time" defining well the band's uplifting spirit, with chicks, good mood, champagne and romance. With impressive chorus lines you'll instantly memorize and try to keep up with, "Die For Diamonds" is a tour de force that shows immense promise and if it all goes well, these guys will become great.
