Love.Might.Kill - Brace For Impact

Ora, ora, que magnífica surpresa.

Não é todos os dias que a Massacre nos brinda com uma banda de Metal Melódico, mas com "Brace For Impact", dos Love.Might.Kill, a poderosa editora pelo menos acerta no ouro.

Fundada pelo baterista ex-Firewind/Metalium Michael Ehré, a banda tem aqui o seu primeiro álbum, e apresenta desde logo alguns trunfos apreciávies, por um lado a qualidade dos músicos, por outro, a qualidade vocal de Jan Manenti, nome perfeitamente desconhecido para mim, mas que manterei em mente.

O Hardrock/Metal Melódico dos Love.Might.Kill tem claras influências de Judas Priest, Dio, Rainbow, com algum Whitesnake à mistura. O resultado é incrivelmente melódico, e semelhante a algumas bandas que passaram recentemente pela RHL, nomeadamente Stargazery, Eden's Curse ou Brother Firetribe, com algo de Gotthard ou Shakra. Nem todos os temas são extraordinários, mas temas como "Calm Before The Storm" e "Pretty Little Mess" são demolidores, enquanto a força dos riffs de "Caught In A Dream" não nos deixam indiferentes.

Jan tem claramente uma capacidade vocal soberba. Mesmo se os temas não são todos do mais alto nível, o vocalista consegue imprimir-lhes um fortíssimo carisma que lhes eleva o nível, com um timbre algures entre David Coverdale e Pekka Heino. Tudo somado, os Love.Might.Kill conseguem estrear-se com um excelente álbum de Hardock/Metal Melódico que agradará sem reservas aos fãs das bandas supracitadas e rapidamente tomará conta das vossas colunas de som.

Love.Might.Kill - Brace For Impact

Now, now, what a magnificent surprise.

It's not every day that Massacre greets us with a Melodic Metal band, but with "Brace For Impact" by Love.Might.Kill, the powerful label hits gold.

Created by former Firewind/Metalium drummer Michael Ehré, the band has here its debut, and from the start it delivers some interesting arguments, on one hand the musicianship, on the other, the vocal quality of Jan Manenti, a name I didn't know until now, but one I'll keep an eye out for.

Their Hardrock/Melodic Metal draws heavily on Judas Priest, Dio, Rainbow, with some Whitesnake thrown in. The result is incredibly melodic, quite alike some bands that have been through the pages of RHL, such as Stargazery, Eden's Curse or Brother Firetribe, with something of Gotthard or Shakra. Not all songs are extraordinary, but Calm Before The Storm" and "Pretty Little Mess" are overwhelming, while you just have got to love the slow riffing in "Caught In A Dream".

Jan really has superb vocal skills. Even if the songs aren't all stunning, he lends them great charisma that takes the songs to a whole new level, with his tone somewhere between David Coverdale and Peka Heino. All things accounted for, Love.Might.Kill debut with an excellent Hardrock/Melodic Metal album that will wholeheartedly please the fans of the aforementioned bands, and one that will quickly take over your sound device.
