Unherz - Herszschlag

Em defesa (ou ataque, dependendo dos gostos) dos Germânicos Unherz, que nos chegam aqui com o seu segundo álbum, "Herzschlag", o Hard Rock/ Heavy Metal que nos apresentam é tipicamente Germânico: algo duro, com um vocalista áspero, ritmos assertivos e algo maquinais, com um grande apelo à dança e hipermelódico.

Ouça-se a inicial "Herzschlag". Exemplo típico daquele género de músicas matraquantes com um regrão que faz o corpo agitar-se mesmo sem que o percebamos. No entanto, uma fortíssima componente da sonoridade dos Unherz é mesmo o punk que povoam quase constantemente a secção rítmica da banda com resultados que, dependendo dos gostos, podem ser razoáveis ou francamente bons, inclinando-me eu para esta segunda hipótese. "Und Dunkelheit wird Licht" é um exemplo claríssimo desta toada mais punk, juntamente com "Prall und Kungelrund", esta ainda mais punk, ou "20,000 Freunde", e que infeccioso é o resultado.

A banda recebe no entanto alguns pontos por algum equilíbrio nas composições, já que com a sombria balada "Die Hölle much schön sein" e as suas belíssimas vocalizações femininas, a banda pisa um pouco o território gótico, enquanto "Rette Mich" é o que poderíamos considerar um Heavy Metal típico. Assim, tudo somado, o quanto vão gostar de "Herzschlag" dependerá do quanto suportam punk. Se sim, então têm aqui um álbum que devem definitivamente ouvir. Extremamente melódico, com ritmos apelativos e grandes momentos, "Herzschlag" é um excelente álbum para descomprimir e libertar energia.

Unherz - Herszschlag

In the defense (or attack, depending on your tastes) of Germany's Unherz, who now arrive with their second album, "Herzschlag", the Hard Rock/Heavy Metal here at hand is German to the bone: tough, with gritty vocals, hard and rather machine like rhythms and a great incentive to dancing, while being quite melodic.

Take a listen to the opening "Herzschlag". A typical example of that kind of hammering songs with a chorus line that will have your body moving without you even noticing it. Still, a very strong component of Unherz's sound is indeed the Punk that one would consider omnipresent in the band's rhythm section, with results that (depending on your tastes) can be quite reasonable or even very good, with me leaning to the second option. "Und Dunkelheit wird Licht" is a great example of the Punk side of the band, together with "Prall und Kungelrund" or "20,000 Freunde", and what an infectious result this one turns out to be.

The band gets some points for how balanced their songs are, since with the gloomy ballad "Die Hölle much schön sein" and its beautiful female vocals, the band goes a bit in to Goth territory, while "Rette Mich" is what we could consider typical Heavy Metal. All things accounted for, how much you'll enjoy "Herzschlag" depends of how much you enjoy punk. If you do, then this is an album you should really listen to. Extremely melodic, with appealing rhythms and many highlights, "Herzschlag" is a great album to ventilate your energy.
